Last month, we celebrated Rory Dresch’s 26 years of service at Dow Rummel Village. Thank you, Rory, for you time, knowledge, and dedication to Dow Rummel. We wish you all the best!
Rory’s Story (excerpt from Rory’s Story written by Joe Reisch, 9-9-2014)
Hired by Dow Rummel more than a quarter-century ago, Rory Dresch, may well have been the best hiring decision ever made by management in the 50 plus years of the existence of this facility.
“Facilities Manager” does not seem an adequate title for a man who was responsible for so many things during his tenure here at Dow Rummel. No one knows more about the physical plant than Rory does! In fact, it is highly doubtful that our entire maintenance staff with a combined experience of more than 50 years at Dow Rummel knows as much about the facilities as Rory. He can tell you where the electrical panel is for any switch, outlet or price of equipment in the entire facility. Often times, he even knew what breaker number had to be reset when power went out somewhere.
He was an expert at prioritizing what needed to be done and in what order and what would just have to wait until another day. There were very few emergencies for Rory – he knew how to solve the problem or when to bring in outside help. He was quick to recognize each individual’s strengths and weaknesses and assigned work orders accordingly. He always put you in a position to succeed but always insisted you call for advice or another set of hands, if needed.
The Maintenance Staff at Dow Rummel Village would like to suggest that Rory Dresch be recognized as
“THE ULTIMATE EMPLOYEE OF THE FIRST HALF CENTURY OF DOW RUMMEL OPERATIONS”
