Medicare-Medicaid UPDATE
The last month or so has been a busy time with our Medicare and Medicaid
Certification process being concluded, and finalizing budgets for Dow
Rummel.
I am pleased to tell you that Dow Rummel Village has been certified to
provide Medicare and Medicaid services. As soon as we have certain processes
set up we will be putting those services in place. In April we will be
offering some education seminars on Medicare and Medicaid to help explain
just what all of this means for the residents of Dow Rummel and to answer
questions that will certainly arise. We'll keep you posted with dates and
times when they are set. We will try to offer some evening sessions so that
family members can learn more if they wish.

In addition, this legislative update and "Thank you":

State lawmakers last Tuesday amended & passed the general appropriations bill.  I would like to say thank you to all those who expressed their concerns to our legislators about cutting  Medicaid funding in South Dakota and a special thank you to our legislators for hearing us and responding by preserving  our Medicaid funds.  Thank you for remembering that this is not just about numbers.  There are faces behind those numbers.   Thank you for your support.

Covells Dining Room
We are excited about the changes coming to Covells Dining Room in May!
Effective May 1st, Covells will be open from 11 AM to 7 PM. The buffet will
still be served from 11 AM to 1 PM. But from 1 to 7 PM, residents can order
off a menu. The menu will be similar to the evening menu selections now
being offered.
We will also be offering a special Chef's selection on Friday and Saturday
evenings to make those evenings a finer dining experience. In addition,
residents will have the option to bring their choice of wine or an alcoholic
beverage Friday and Saturday evenings to enjoy with the meal. This will
offer a special opportunity for residents to invite friends and family for
an evening out. Residents who don't have a meal plan are welcome to Covells,
to make it an evening out, just as any restaurant experience.
We are looking for a couple more volunteers to help out in Covells from 11
AM to noon as host/hostess. If you have an interest or would like to know
more about this volunteer opportunity, please give me a call or stop in to
visit with me.

We are excited by these changes and invite you to stop by, and see what is
happening here are Dow Rummel Village.

May God Bless your Day,

Darla J. Van Rosendale
CEO
Dow Rummel Village
