Some Lenten Questions (contd.)

As the Lenten season draws us closer to a week that began in triumph, and
seemingly ended in tragedy only to provide a miraculous triumph that
sustains us to this day, we look at one of the most solemn days of Holy Week
and ask...

What is Maundy Thursday?

Christians commemorate Jesus' last supper when he broke bread and
gave the cup of wine to his disciples, initiating the sacrament of the
Lord's Supper. The word Maundy comes from the Latin word for "commandment."
In the upper room with his disciples on the night before he died, Jesus
said, "I give you a new commandment - that you love one another."
